On March 21, 2007, in NanKang Software Park Center, TaiPei, Taiwan, the Chairman of Saigon Invest Group and SaigonTel Corp. Mr. Dang Thanh Tam and The Chairman of TECO - Mr. Ted Huang signed MOU to form TECO – SaigonTel Software Park joint - venture.

The project will be performed in 2nd District, and in the advanced technological park in 9th District, the first stage will be executed on 5 hectares and the next stage on 25 hectares with the minimum invested capital for the first stage is 500 million USD.

The contract was signed with the attendance of the Chiefdom, Deputy Chief, and the Leaders of Thu Thiem City’s Management Board; the Director of HCM City Investment & Plan Service; and the Representative of Vietnam’s Economic Culture in TaiPei.
This is a very large project which has great economic significance for Vietnam, and it will be also the outstanding project of Vietnam Business on the integration period into WTO, proving that Vietnam business is able to cooperate with great partners of international stature, perform large projects which invest in IT areas, specially in software.

TECO is the interdisciplinary, multinational corporation. It is also the investor of 10 hectares-large NanKang Software Park in TaiPei Center, Taiwan, where the convenience building was built with the best modern comfort for more than 25,000 software experts to work. The turnover is about 10 billion USD per year, and the general invested capital is 3,5 billion USD.

SaigonTel, which has the major in information technology, is one of the members of Saigon Investment Group.
SaigonTel is now the investor of ICT Kinh Bac which covers an area of 500 hectares, and attracts the advanced technological invested capital. Besides that, SaigonTel is also the founding member of HCM City Developing Technological Joint-stock Company ; the investor of the two ICT SaigonTel buildings in Quang Trung Software Park; and the 9 floor-building, Saigon Institute Of Information Communication Technology, where is now cooperating with Japan to train the IT experts to work in Japan.

With the above joint-venture project, within 3 months, the pre-feasible report will be prepared to ask for the invested policy of HCM City, then will be submitted to the Ministry of Planning and Investment, and finally to Government. The Saigon Institute Of Information Communication Technology will take park in training and providing IT human resources for Software Park. Anticipating that this Park will need about more than 500 Software experts within the next 5 years.
